Big Daddy and Multiplayer to be looked forward in BioShock2

bioshock2What are the things to look forward in BioShock2? Here are two most important of them.

Playing as Big Daddy

You play as Big Daddy. This is the biggest change of Bioshock2, perhaps. When we ponder about the Big Daddies from BioShock, we remember it for hulking lumbering giants that they were. Yes, of course it was incredibly powerful and one may imagine that if playing as one then it would slow down the pace. 2K Marin says that gamers don’t play as any Big Daddy, but instead a prototype Big Daddy. He says that the Big Daddy is faster and more agile than regular Big Daddy and also has the ability to switch weapons and use plasmids.

Multiplayer

The development team has considered adding multiplayer to BioShock 2 to give gamers the best possible single player experience. In fact fully fledged multiplayer component has been added. In the game each of the players will be having his or her personal apartment where they can upgrade their character and also save weapon or plasmid loadouts. Story has been also wrapped up in the multiplayer experience.

Big Daddy suit is an interesting component in it, which spawns randomly on the map. Gamers who picks it up becomes a near tank that is unstoppable. When gets killed then the suit respawns.

Mixed reactions on first video of Bioshock 2

bioshock2screenThe first trailer that was released recently has a mixed reaction among gamers and fans. While searching for some good stuff over internet I found one website which writes, “why the hell would you want multiplayer in Bioshock? The shooting in that game already felt stiff and wrong, and the plasmids won’t help that.”

One more website writes that the gameplay looks fantastic with human-controlled players such as Incinerate, Telekinesis, Winter Blast and many more plasmid powers in succession.

Another website has a similar say. It writes, “the trailer sets the scene and informs us why, exactly, we’ll be running around shooting at one another in a multiplayer context.”

Well, put down your reaction after watching the first video Bioshock 2 from the previous post that is just a bit more than 2 mins. We will publish some more reactions of the game from more websites and comments.

First trailer of BioShock 2

Here is the first look of BioShock 2. The multiplayer video of the game has been released today.

The multiplayer aspect of BioShock2 is being developed by Digital Extremes. There seems to be something new in the game.

Below mentioned are few of the features of multiplayer from 2K Games:

Evolution of the genetically enhanced shooter – Gamers can earn points during the gameplay and can further earn access to newer Weapons, Plasmids or Tonics. These can be further used in creating hundreds of different combinations and it will allow the players to develop unique character catering to the style of the playing.

Extend the Rapture fiction – In this the players will be stepping into Rapture citizens’ shoes and then learn something more about the fall of Rapture while in progress through the experiences.

See Rapture before the fall – Here players can experience the Rapture before it gets reclaimed by the ocean and then engage it in fight over the iconic environments in locations like the Kashmir Restaurant and the Mercury Suites.

FPS veterans add their touch to the multiplayer experience – The developer Digital Extremes in this game brings over ten years of first person shooter experience that also includes the development of award-winning entries in the Unreal® and Unreal Tournament® franchise.

Verbinski withdraws, Fresnadillo to direct BioShock for big screen

BioShock is also going to hit big screens. The good news is that Universal Pictures will be making the big screen adaptation of Bioshock and the bad news is that Gore Verbinski has been stepped out from the director’s chair.

News comes that Universal Pictures is luring Spaniard Juan Carlos Fresnadillo as the director of BioShock on big screen. Carlos Fresnadillo is well known for writing and also for helming 28 Weeks Later.

The publisher of BioShock, Take-Two Interactive, will be speaking finally on the BioShock’s director’s chair. Till now he has not given thumps up to Carlos Fresnadillo. Meanwhile the John Logan script is ready so the pre-production may start.

In the month of April Universal Pictures had shut down the production of BioShock due to the ballooning budget of the film. Then the plan made was to have a re-work on the script and also to explore possible locations abroad that can offer financial incentives.

Let me quote Verbinski when he was asked by the Los Angeles Times: “The bottom line is it has to shoot out of the States for budget reasons and my schedule may be prohibitive. There’s a great script and a really interesting cast. It really comes down to the financial model now. Big movies are just not being shot in the States. I’m weighing whether I can physically go the U.K. or Australia or one of those other places with a tax rebate for a year-and-a-half.”
